TRT Near You

Where to get local help in TRT

Tinnitus Retraining Therapy is spreading quite quickly as patients and health-care professionals find out how effective it is. Over 100 courses run by Jastreboff and Hazell around the world has resulted in the formal teaching of TRT, of over 1000 professionals. Not everyone who attended these courses is practicing TRT, so check first. Also some will be better than others! Naturally!.

A book by Jastreboff and Hazell entitled Tinnitus Retraining Therapy, implementing the Neurophysiological Model is now published. We have tried to make the book accessible to lay people, but its principle role will be as a textbook which you can take to your professional / therapist, to guide him / her to do the right thing.

TRT is a specific implementation of an habituation based therapy for tinnitus and hyperacusis based on the Jastreboff Neurophysiological model. It is not the only way to treat tinnitus. However if you wish to achieve the results from TRT that have been published in various centres, then it is essential to use only the exact protocol following the neurophysiological model of tinnitus as taught on the courses in Atlanta USA and London UK. These courses are complimentary to each other.
